$5 million goes to corrections facility
State Representative Michael Stinziano announced May 23 the Corrections Medical Center (CMC), 1990 Harmon Ave, will receive $5 million for specialty medical services for prison inmates.
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction intends to contract with Dr. Michael Maymind for comprehensive laboratory consulting services.
The department also requests approval to exercise the renewal clause of the following contracts: Mid-Ohio Radiology for comprehensive X-ray interpretation services, Laboratory Corporation of America for clinical medical laboratory reference tests that cannot be completed by the CMC laboratory, and Shared Imaging for mobile CT scans and MRI/MRA scans.
The CMC is a high-security level institution, opened in 1993, and provides comprehensive inpatient medical services for approximately 127 male and female inmates and outpatient specialty care services to hundreds of inmates each week from various institutions.
