Winter Lights in Town Center

The city of Grove City's annual Winter Lights Christmas Celebration will illuminate Town Center from 6-8 p.m. on Dec. 3.

This year's theme, Christmas Traditions, will be reflected in family-friendly features such as live reindeer, horse-drawn carriage rides, traditional carols, an ice sculpture, the official Grove City tree lighting and more. Pictures with Santa Claus will be taken by T.W.I.G. 184 for $5, with all proceeds benefitting Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Carriage rides are free, but a monetary or canned food donation is requested to benefit the Grove City Food Pantry.

The 2010 Winter Lights Christmas Parade will begin at 7:30 p.m. and feature floats decorated in Christmas lights. The parade route will start at Park Street Intermediate School and proceed north on Wilbur Avenue, turn west down Columbus Street, travel south on Broadway through the Town Center and progress east on Park Street back to the school. The Town Center tree lighting will commence immediately following the parade. Park Street, west of Broadway, will close at 8 a.m. Park Street, east of Broadway, and Broadway from Grant Avenue to Grove City Road will close at 4 p.m.

Non-perishable food, toy and monetary donations will be collected for the Grove City Food Pantry and the Jackson Township Fire Department's Toys for Kids program.
