Sixth graders representing China stride down the hall during the Parade of Nations at Holt Crossing Intermediate School on Feb. 11 for the Winter Olympics. For the next week, students will compete in volleyball and basketball as well as modified versions of hockey, bobsled and slalom skiing.  Medals will be awarded to those who place in the top three positions for each grade. Photographed from left to right are Bryce Hand, Chance Ratliff and Trevor Stevens.

Students who demonstrated an exceptional spirit of sportsmanship won the honor of presenting the Olympic flag during the opening ceremonies. Shown from left to right are Jackson Lasko, Matthew Phimmavong, Kimisha Williams, Helen Reeve and Ethan Leapley.

Central Crossing soccer player and former Holt Crossing student Julie Baker carries the torch during the opening ceremonies of the intermediate school's opening ceremonies.
