West grad earns spot with OSU band

| West High school graduate, Matthew Berndsen (left) has been named the 2009 assistant drum major for The Ohio State University Marching Band. He will serve with Josh Halter (right) who earned the position of drum major for the second year in a row. Matthew's responsibilities will be to back up the drum major in case he cannot perform, lead Script Ohio when a double script is formed, to assist with D-row and other duties. Berndsen served as the drum major for West High School for three years. |
