Reynoldsburg Council to vote on city budget at next meeting
(by Rachel Scofield, Staff Writer - March 19, 2009)
Reynoldsburg city council will vote March 23 to approve the 2009 budget.
The city will remain "in the black, which is a much more enviable position than that of a lot of other municipalities across Ohio and across the United States," Mayor Brad McCloud said.
Finance committee chairman Ron Stake, who worked with McCloud to balance the budget, said most of the expenses are contributed to personnel costs and will continue to rise.
"Our biggest challenge is trying to keep (payroll) under control," Stake said.
The council will approve the budget by emergency so it will be in place by April 1.
At the council's April 6 service committee meeting, attorney Jack Reynolds will provide a presentation on behalf of Durb Morrison who wishes to open a tattoo parlor on Main Street in Olde Reynoldsburg.
Reynolds said the presentation would resolve issues brought up by members of the community and council.
If the council permits Morrison's request, nobody younger than the age of 18 would be permitted to enter the business, which also would include an art gallery.
