Reynoldsburg begins process for water tower maintenance
The city of Reynoldsburg has begun the process of arranging routine maintenance of the Broad Street Water Tower.
About every 20 years, the tower must be painted on the inside and outside, a process that can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depending on the weather, City Engineer Jim Miller said.
At the Oct. 27 city council meeting, council members voted to authorize Miller to prepare bid documents and an estimate of construction costs for the maintenance.
Miller said the city is looking at late spring when the project will be completed.
Also at the meeting, council members recognized two Reynoldsburg athletes for their accomplishments.
Melissa Dodaro was recognized for a new record of 147 feet, 1 inch in discus and for her accomplishment as state discus champion.
Mike Knisely was also recognized as the state champion in the 800-meter race. Knisely is now competing at the University of Kentucky.
