As a result of cooperative actions between Franklin County, Prairie Township and Central Ohio Community Improvement Corporation officials, three derelict apartment buildings located at 299 and 329 Mix Ave. and 4619 Stiles Ave. in Prairie Township have been demolished, clearing the way for redevelopment and removing an eyesore. After being abandoned by the property owners and sitting vacant for years, county and township officials began the process by foreclosing on the property and giving it to the Central Ohio Community Improvement Corporation to redevelop the land. The cost of the demolistion was shared by the township and the county.
