Leslie Steffes and her first grade class (pictured) at Westgate Alternative Elementary collected critical need items for the Capital Area Humane Society as a holiday service project. With the support of other Westgate students, families, friends and local businesses, the class was able to donate over 1,000 cans of cat and dog food, 170 towels, 17 bags of pet food and an assortment of pet leashes and treats.
