City registering for 5K race
The city of Grove City and Mount Carmel Health present the second annual Mount Carmel Up and Away 5k on Aug. 25 in coordination with the annual Balloons & Tunes hot air balloon festival.
The race is scheduled to take place during the morning balloon launch at Beulah Park, 3811 Southwest Blvd.
A Kids’ Fun Run down the straight-away that allows children to experience racing on the track will kick off at 8 a.m. The 5k is open to runners and walkers immediately following the Fun Run. The race route will take participants around the race track and through historic Town Center.
Awards will be presented to the top three males and females. Participants may pre-register online for the 5k for $25 or on race day from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. for $30. The kids run is $20 during the online pre-registration period and $25 on race day. The first 200 registrants will receive a technical race T-shirt.
All proceeds will benefit the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, dedicated to building and sustaining a community that makes food accessible to all people.
