Battle of the Bands competition set for Tomato Festival
The Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival is adding a new event to this year’s festivities - a Battle of the Bands competition.
“The Tomato Jam” is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 18. Bands interested in participating must submit audition tapes by June 29. Finalists will be selected by July 6.
Bands will be judged on pre-ticket sales, crowd voting and onsite judges. The winner of the 2012 Tomato Jam will open for McGuffey Lane Saturday night of the festival.
First- and second-place winners will receive a gift certificate or musical instrument from Guitar Center. Bands interested in applying must submit a completed application and video of two songs. The video must include all band members participating in the Tomato Jam. The application can be found at reynoldsburgtomatofestival.org/forms2011.html.
The Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival Entertainment Committee will select eight bands to participate in the Tomato Jam.
