Eastside libraries kick off summer reading clubs
The Reynoldsburg Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library is holding a free kick-off event for this year's Summer Reading Club.
The event will take place from noon to 2 p.m. June 9 at the library, located at 1402 Brice Road. It will include balloons, snacks, games, crafts and a visit from the Reynoldsburg firefighters. For more information, call (614) 479-3342.
The Pickerington Public Library also will hold its annual summer reading program beginning June 11. Families may come in, pick up their reading logs and start reading for prizes.
The library offers several programs for various grade levels. "Dream Read Big" is the theme for ages 2 through 4th grade, while "Own the Night" is for teens. Even adults can participate, with the theme "Between the Covers."
There also will be a "Summer Rhyme Time," "Summer Tots," "Art int he Afternoon" and teen and adult programs. Family programs are once again scheduled for Thursday evenings. For specific times and programs, check the library calendar or stop in to pick up a newsletter. Program registration also begins June 11.
