Hilltop Kiwanis annual fundraiser for community

Kiwanis members Paul Johnson, Chuck Roush and Rob Gibbs prepare for the Christmas paper sale several years ago. The Hilltop Kiwanis Club are selling copies of its 2011 Hilltop Kiwanis Christmas Paper for its annual fundraiser on Dec. 1. One hundred percent of the money goes back to the community. The sale will happen at Crossroads United Methodist Church, 1100 S. Hague Ave. A silent auction will start at 11 a.m. with more than 200 items to bid on, followed by a live auction at noon. On the Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon there will be a street sale of the Christmas papers. To volunteer as a newsboy or newsgirl contact Harold Hambrock at 351-1435 or haroldcols2@juno.com.

It is with deep sorrow that our club has decided to forego the Thursday evening door to door delivery of the newspaper this year. Changing environments on the Hilltop and events of the past have led us to decide that for the safety of our members and those who help us it is best that we do this during the day. Therefore, the delivery of the papers this year will be done on Saturday afternoon or by insertion into The Bag. Thank you for your understanding as we try our best to keep up with the changes on the Hilltop.
