Sullivant Avenue Readiness Center to be rennovated
State Rep. Michael Stinziano announced Sept. 26 the state controlling board approved a grant of $578,870 for the Sullivant Avenue Readiness Center.
The funds will go toward roof, window and door repair.
“The Sullivant Avenue Readiness Center is an important facility in Franklin County,” Stinziano said. “I’m very pleased that we’re able to support the hardworking men and women of the Ohio National Guard who contribute so much to our state and our country.”
Included in the funds are $535,000 for the base bid, $6,000 for an overhead door replacement and $37,878 for the seven percent contingency fund.
This is a state and federal cost-shared project. The Army National Guard facilities program will contribute $289,435 of federal funds while the State of Ohio will contribute an equal amount.
The Columbus Sullivant Avenue Readiness Center was built in 1958. According to the adjutant general’s long range construction plan, this facility will remain in service until at least the year 2027.
