Katie Snyder, Haley Maynard, Cheyenne Wright and Kyle Wright of the Westland High School Junior Air Force ROTC place a wreath at the grave of World War I ace, Captain Eddie Rickenbacker at Green Lawn Cemetery on Sept. 16. This group has honored Rickenbacker for nearly 30 years, laying a wreath in honor of his birth on Oct. 8, 1890.

ROTC members Thomas Simons, Alanie Wilson, Billy Holt and Anthony Ulrey perform a flag folding ceremony during a POW/MIA remembrance Sept. 16 at Mott’s Military Museum in Groveport. About 60 members of the squadron participated in the remembrance. Simons and Wilson made a fold each time Haley Maynard named a missing serviceman from central Ohio dating as far back as 1942.
