Veterinarian Dr. Candace K. Fisher holds her Yorkie, Bernadette, who is dressed for the Westland Area Independence Day parade. Bernadette was one of the few animal entries in the annual parade that stepped off Westland High School and went east on West Broad Street to the Lincoln Village Plaza Shopping Center. The rain began falling not long after the parade began.
